DRIVING REIGN
The advance of computer technology has provided many of us with the possibility of tele-commuting from home. This does wonders for our psyche, our atmosphere, our gasoline bills and our patience. But occasionally we are still required to face our clients in person, which leaves us far less prepared for the changing road conditions.
As the weather continues to prove its unpredictability, we as part-time road warriors and city migrators must adapt constantly to current conditions. That blanket of snow that looks so peaceful from your home office window isn’t quite as picturesque and quaint when you have to navigate its slippery underbelly. And a rainy day fails to be so welcomed when we have to drive through its cascade of water.
So I encourage you all to remember, just before you turn the key to start your motor, you are no longer eighteen and fearless. You have responsibilities. And your reflexes aren’t what they once were. So buckle up. Leave ten minutes earlier then you had planned. And realize that mother nature is a powerful force and you are just a mere mortal. There is no reason to join the maddening crowd that believes they can out maneuver the weather. Instead, take a moment and see the beauty that the falling rain brings in the form of spring flowers. Recognize the sheer brilliant beauty of the drifting snowflakes. Relax. But most importantly, enjoy the ride.
